Backup & Restore Settings
Use Backup & Restore to export local data, restore from a backup, or reset the app to a clean state.
Create Backup
Download Backup creates a single backup file that includes your local OrcaQ data.
According to the current UI, the backup includes:
- all workspaces and workspace settings
- all connections, including credentials
- all query files and SQL content
- Quick Query run history
- agent chat history
- app settings, migration history, and compatible local UI state
Because connection credentials are included, treat backup files as sensitive.
Restore from Backup
The restore section accepts backup JSON pasted into the app.
The current restore behavior is described as:
- existing items with the same ID are updated
- missing items are added
- anything not present in the backup stays as it is
Reset all data
Reset all data permanently removes local OrcaQ user data on the current device.
The warning in the current UI explicitly includes:
- workspaces
- connections
- query files
- chat history
- environment tags
- local settings
To confirm the reset, OrcaQ requires this exact phrase:
